I was able to change dollars into euros !!!!! The help from front desk staff was very good.
Dining facilities were not as good as I would have preferred. A little too far away from city.
We had a nice meal in the restaurant on the evening of our arrival.
We were travelling with our nephew, 14 years old. Management stated that for both nights, all services would be blocked to his room (such as pay TV) as he was a minor. It was not done and he subsequently was able to use a pay-movie multimedia service, which was rather shocking. Besides the embarrassment it caused, it put a damper on the end of an otherwise good holiday in Italy. (We had stayed at different hotels every night for 7 days!) The Marriott was our last. Roomwise, We were put in a smoking room on a non-smoking floor. I also found the balconies to be very disappointing, with dirty aging planters containing dead plants!!
Hotel is out of the city. The nearest Metro station is Gemelli, which is not covered if you have the RomaPass.. However a ticket there only costs 1.5€. note: There are no ticket machines in the Metro station at Gemelli, but you can buy tickets in the Kiosk in the hotel. Shuttle bus costs 3€/direction per person and goes to the Vatican. Was a good idea, as the Italians were on strike one of the days we were there. Breakfast was good, with a large selection of fresh fruits, cheeses and meats. Would have been nice to have real, Italian coffee and not the instant stuff out of the machines.
Front desk was understaffed and inefficient. Check-in took about 10 min, and we were the only ones there at that time. Check out was terrible, and we had to wait a long time. BREAKFAST costs 14€ if not included in your reservation, which is was too much for any breakfast. INTERNET costs 8€/hour. Even the cheapest hostel has WiFi for free.. It seemed like everything cost extra even though the price is high to start with.
Very friendly and helpful staff Spacious rooms and comfortable beds
No free WiFi Plastic cups in the room
Our room was clean and comfortable and ready upon our early arrival. There is a shuttle to the Vatican for 2 euros. While the location is remote, it is in a quieter residential area.
The hotel is very remote cab ride into center of Rome runs 25 to 35 euros.
Good views at front of hotel
Was put in a twin room instead of a double room for two nights despite the fact a double room was requested on Booked.net. Shuttle bus to the Vatican was €3 each way per person for a very short journey. Drinks in the hotel bar were overpriced - the bar staff charged €9 for a vodka and tonic, using half of the small glass bottle of tonic water, recapped the tonic water and used it again when a vodka and tonic was ordered again (charging for another bottle of tonic water). Very few English language channels on the TV (that were free). Internet access pricey at €5/hour or €10/day.
Very good breakfast, cleanliness, comfort of room, quite good location to the city.
Channels on TV change too slowly. For a new channel you have to start using the remote controller from the very beginningq, e.g TV or film, language, etc. There hould be an option at least to change TV channels one after another.
Friendly staff. Clean and comfortable.
The location. I thought I was booking near the main train station. It was a non refundable reservation, so it actually cost us more to get to the hotel and then to the airport the next day. If we wanted to be in that part of Rome, the hotel would have been very satisfactory.
Very pleasant Really helpful staff.
Unfortunately slightly out of the city. But near a station
